THE HIGHEST PEAK IN SOUTH AFRICA, 3451m

A spectacular out-and-back hike in a 3 or 4 day circular route. The mountain lies on the border of Lesotho and South Africa. Trekking peak. -no ropes needed. Starts and ends at 1500m, Injasuthi Camp with the highest point, 3451m. The total distance is 50kms out and back or a circular 64kms. The hiking is mostly off trail through high, undulating mountains. It includes the ascent and descent of rough mountain passes. The summit is often cold and windy. You need to be fit and strong and able to
hike with a full backpack for up to 7 hours a day. You will see wild animals including antelope, baboons and the rare Bearded Vulture. We stay in either a cave or small mountain tents.

Some prior rock climbing and abseiling experience is needed, medium to high fitness and a head for heights. MTS certified

At the town of Howick in the KZN Midlands, steep face climbing over-looking the falls. There routes in the grade 17-22 range.
Combines well with a trip to Umgeni Valley just 10 minutes away. Best for climbers who can already climb in the moderate to harder grades.
Must be able to abseil (rappel) without a safety rope.
There is big exposure on all the routes.
