Champagne Castle, 3333m

31 May 2024 by Admin

A trekking peak and one of South Africa’s highest mountains, including a steep and rough ascent on summit day. The hike starts and ends at 1580m with the highest point, 3333m. The total distance is 42kms.
The hiking is mostly on trail but includes a rough and steep ascent and descent of Grey’s Pass. You need to be fit and strong and able to hike with a full backpack for up to 6 hours a day. You will see wild animals including antelope, baboons and the rare Bearded Vulture. We stay in small mountain tents at the base camp of Keith Bush Camp.
