Devil’s Knuckles Traverse Hike

3 June 2024 by Admin

3 days in the Southern Drakensberg. A hike in gentle mountains with spectacular rock formations and ancient tribal history. The hike starts and ends at 1700m with the highest point , 3000m (middle Knuckle). The total distance is 25kms or 32kms. The hiking is mostly off trail through high mountains. You need to be fit and strong and able to hike with a full backpack for up to 6 hours a day. You will see wild animals including antelope, baboons and the rare Bearded Vulture. There is also  bushman rock art and ancient African dwellings to visit. We stay in either a cave or small mountain tents.
