It is a case of the agony of choice! Cederberg, north of Cape Town has to be in the mix of great climbing venues of South Africa. Cederberg has several good venues, but if you are looking for easy access, great camping and great rock and with easy climbs, it has to go to Rooiberg. This place is just stunning! There is a campsite that looks up towards the cliffs, which then glow red in the evening light. The perfect place to relax after a day on the crags.
There is a host of moderate multi-pitch trad routes and a few multi-pitch sport routes from which to choose . The approach to all of these is just a 40 minute hike up a good path. Most of the routes are 4-5 pitches in length and there is an easy walk off when the climbing is down.
On easy days there are also several single pitch routes lower down near the campsite. Back at base camp there is WiFi, a swimming pool, beer and fresh braai meat.
